COERR Organized Tree Planting to Celebrate H.M. the King on Environment Day

COERR organized the environmental conservation activity the whole year, especially the tree planting activities on special occasions, such as Environment Day, World Refugee Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, etc. , aiming at raising refugees’ awareness in protecting forest, not to cut trees.

In June this year, COERR distributed 8,500 saplings to refugees and NGOs and officials to grow in several occasions. On June 22, 2018, one thousand saplings were distributed to refugees in Ban Umpiem and concerned government and private sectors to grow in the tree planting project to celebrate H.M. the King. The tree planting project also aimed at strengthening friendships among all concerned, i.e. refugee youth, officials and NGOs’ staff, and encouraging youth to participate in forest recovery and fertility.

For the Environment Day celebration, COERR distributed 500 saplings and convinced 466 refugee participants in Ban Nupo camp of the benefit of forest and preservation and then to plant the saplings on June 13th. At Ban Mae La, 1,000 sapling planting activity was organized on June 20th with 1,143 refugee participants.
